The Historic District of Mitchell was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 26, 1997. This irregularly shaped area contains homes and businesses that were built in the 1800s and is roughly bounded by 10th, Oak, 6th and N. Mississippi Streets. The map below displays the 16+ blocks that are in the area. Additionally, the Opera House at the corner of 7th and Brook Streets is designated as a historic building on the National Register of Historic Places.
